UNEP seeks technical expert for DTIE activities in Benin


UNEP DTIE is seeking a technical expert in Benin to participate in GCF project development in Benin. The position will remain online until the 24th of May. Details about the job opening, including a background of the UNEP/UNDP/WRI Readiness Programme in Benin can be accessed online on Inspira.

Resonsibilities of the expert will include the preparation of a  project concept note in the format advised by the Green Climate Fund. The expert will work in consultation with Benin's Ministère de l’Environnement Chargé de la Gestion des Changements Climatiques, du Reboisement et de la Protection des Ressources Naturelles et Forestières and UNEP DTIE to finalise a concept note.

The successful candidate will hold a university degree (A minimum of Master’s degree or equivalent will be preferred) in finance, economics, international development, international environmental law or a closely related field. The candidate is also expected to be fluent in French, and have a minimum of eight years of experience working in project development and project structuring in climate change projects and/or in development finance or in engagement of the private sector/finance sector in climate related activities in Benin and/or other developing countries, particularly Francophone Africa.
