Unlocking the Green Climate Fund: Learning from Readiness Support Programmes event will be held on 10 November on the sidelines of the COP 23
The COP 23 side event, Unlocking the Green Climate Fund: Country Readiness Perspectives will take place on Friday, 10 November, in Bonn, Germany.
The side event, co-hosted by UN Environment, the UN Development Programme, the World Resources Institute, and GIZ, with the support of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building, and Nuclear Safety and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, will feature country perspectives on accessing and engaging with the Green Climate Fund.
Discussions aim to shed light on best practice approaches to setting national targets, drawing roadmaps, and prioritizing initiatives in a way that maximizes impact of funding made available through the GCF. Country representatives will discuss the lessons learned through these processes, and also share experiences with other country representatives and GCF Board members, providing a useful source of information and expertise for other countries going through (or considering going through) the same process.
The panel will feature six representatives from National Designated Authorities, as well as representatives from the GCF Board, to explore country experiences preparing to access the GCF.  The event will be held as a single panel at the UNDP Pavilion in the Green zone. Join us at the UNDP Pavilion for the panel discussion, followed by a question and answer session, and a light lunch.
