Technical Training Series

29 March 2016 - 1 April 2016
Nairobi, Kenya

World Resources Institute (WRI) in partnership with the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) in Kenya, UNEP, and UNDP will host a technical training series to help decision-makers enhance their skills in prioritizing adaptation options. The training will take place between 29 and 1 April 2016 in Nairobi.

WRI will focus on three tools that help prioritize adaptation options. The tools include: (1) Rapid Diagnostic Tool to Assess Scaling Potential, (2) Identifying Options to Engage Businesses in Adaptation, and (3) Participatory Scenarios Development. In each session, experts from Kenya will give presentations to set the context for decision-making and provide expertise in their field. The series will integrate quantitative, qualitative, and participatory approaches to prioritizing options.  The primary audience for the training series is decision makers and planners with a technical background from government agencies.  In addition to government agencies, representatives from the private sector and non-governmental organizations will also be present to enable multi-stakeholder engagement in the prioritizing processes.
