Readiness Programme interviews GCF co-chair

1 August 2016 - 4 September 2016
Suva, Fiji

The Green Climate Fund (GCF) aims to provide US$2.5 billion by the end of this year and $6 billion by mid-2017 to developing countries to tackle climate change. Countries which face capacity constraints to access, manage, and absorb this much needed finance, are now making use of “readiness” support offered by the Green Climate Fund and delivery partners. In the context of the GCF's Pacific workshop in Fiji, the Co-Chair of the GCF Board, Mr. Zaheer Fakir explains in this video that “readiness” support is designed to help countries strengthen their capacity to manage climate investments and financial resources, while also providing a holistic approach to achieve Sustainable Development Goals, which are underpinned in broader national development agendas.
